East Timorese Women Against Violence (ETWAVE)
An East Timorese human rights NGO that advocates on behalf of women. It was established to provide protection and equal rights for women and to care for their children.

Fokupers (The East Timorese Women's Communication Forum)
Fokupers is a women's organization that has set up women and children's shelters for victims of domestic violence and incest. It focuses on political victims and gives counselling and other forms of assistance to women and children.

REDE: Feto Timor Lorosae (Timorese Women's Network)
The network was established in March 2000 and currently encompasses more than 15 women’s organisations. These organisations are representative in themselves of a broad cross section of society as there are mass based organisations with national membership -  down to the village level, cultural, income generating/small business and rights based organisations and organisations affiliated with political parties.

Organizacao Popular Mulher Timor (OPMT)
OPMT emerged in 1975, to promote the emancipation of women in all aspects of life, appropriate to their evolving role in East Timor. As an East Timorese women's organisation, OPMT has been dealing with the impact of Indonesian rule that has dominated their lives for the past 25 years culminating in the violence around the UN-sponsored Popular Consultation in 1999. The women of OPMT, who have been dealing with those who have been severely psychologically and/or physically traumatized. They have been helping address the needs of women who takes care of their children, the injured, the sick and the elderly.

FIJI

Development Alternatives with Women for a New Era (DAWN)
It is a network of women scholars and activists from the economic South who engage in feminist research and analysis of the global environment and are committed to working for economic justice, gender justice and democracy. DAWN works globally and regionally in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America and the Pacific on the themes of the Political Economy of Globalisation; Political Restructuring and Social transformation; and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, in partnership with other global NGOs and networks.

Fiji Women's Crisis Centre
It provides crisis counselling and legal, medical and other practical support services for women and children who are sufferers and survivors of violence committed against them by men. The FWCC is also involved in public advocacy and community education on gender violence. The Centre's strategies are based on the conviction that violence against women is a fundamental human rights and development issue.

Fiji Women's Rights Movement
The Fiji Women's Rights Movement was formed in 1986 by a group of women who believed that changes can happen if the law treats women and men equally. It was therefore very important that a group be established to primarily lobby for law reforms. It promotes and practices feminism, democracy, good governance and human rights and strives to empower, united and provide leadership opportunities for women in Fiji, especially young leaders, indigenous and locally born women in Fiji.
